Hunting laws and facts

Winter in Florida is the best time to hunt wild hogs according to Florida officials. During the colder months, hogs tend to be more active and are easier to spot. In an effort to keep numbers low of the destructive animals, the states rules for hunting them are pretty relaxed. On citizens own land, hogs can be hunted at night or during the day with very few limitations on the type of equipment that can be used.

Wild hogs can weigh upwards of 150 pounds and measure 5 to 6 feet long. They can be found in all 67 counties in the state of Florida. They travel in small packs or alone and will eat a variety of plants and animals. Preventing hogs from getting access to your land can be a difficult task, however, there are some fences strong enough to do the trick.
